In today's business environment the effective use of Information Technology can be a major factor between success and failure. It is rare than any one organisation possesses all the skills and knowledge necessary to make the right decision on which products to choose, decide what a realistic implementation plan should be, and even what a fair price would be to achieve the right solution to the organisation's needs.
Gaining knowledge on the latest
technology and it's use can be time consuming, and must be an on-going
role in order that you maintain your business's competitive edge. SCS provides
many services to enable you to concentrate on your own Business.
SCS have introduced a dedicated
division to assist organisations with these IT tasks, and has been created
to meet the needs of any corporation (large or small) that utilises IT
within their operations.
SCS operates (from a base in Bahrain) throughout the Middle East, and has a team of highly experienced consultants, and a additional database of skilled resources, which can be made available (if necessary at short notice) satisfying the most urgent needs of our clients. SCS has partnership agreements to assist us in the search of every specific IT discipline; these partners are based around the world including Europe, USA, Australia, Asia and South Africa.
As part of our service, SCS can manage all the logistical areas regarding the sourcing and supply of the Consultants including VISA and Residency issues, specific to each country in the region.
The Division operates in various areas to support clients in their specific IT and other functions where advice, resources or services are needed, including:
1) IT Procurement Advisory Service
2) Project Management Consultancy
3) Software Development Projects
4) Provision of permanent and/or temporary IT staff
5) Provision of Accounting and Maintenance Management
Consultancy
6) Facilities Management
7) Outsourcing
SCS has based in Bahrain experienced consultants who
have responsibility for all the above areas, (there are also a large number
of consultants available at short notice from associated offices around
the region).
This area of business is predominantly designed to support the products that SCS markets and supports in the Gulf.
Many foreign IT companies fail at the first hurdle when expanding their business into the Middle East. This is generally a result of a lack of local knowledge, and making the wrong assumption that the Gulf can be handled like any other region of the world.
To assist in this process, SCS provides a service to IT companies (large and small) who are in the process of considering whether the Gulf region is a market that they will find viable. This service considers the product (or Service), the target market, the pricing, Arabic translation issues, and will suggest the most appropriate channel to use i.e. direct sales, use of Partners/distributors etc.
SCS has also been approached by many local users of IT who have purchased (or who wish to purchase) products that have no local support or representation available in the region. Because of this need, SCS has created a service that looks individually at each product and will (if deemed viable) commit the necessary resource to provide the level of expertise needed for the client. It is anticipated that in some instances (where the product area is specialised or in a small niche market) the right solution to the problem is for SCS to find appropriate Partners for the products.
One of the most common reasons for the failure of a new IT system is the fact that many organisations fail to address the impact the new system will have on the business process and the organisations employees.
To satisfy fears amongst the users amazingly some companies buy new expensive IT systems and then simply duplicate the system that is being replaced.
SCS Business Process Consultants (BPCs) are tasked with looking and reporting to the customers senior Management on the impact on the company and the employees of the introduction of new technology. The BPC will recommend areas where the company can benefit from the new technology and ways of achieving the change with a minimum of disruption, confusion, and resistance to change from within the company itself.
The BPCs role will be to assist the customer with building user buy-in for the new system, and assisting with staff education, user ownership, and motivation of the staff to work with the new technology and thereby help in it's ultimate success.
Ideally this process should begin before a new system has been introduced, and continue throughout the evaluation and implementation until the system has been successfully put into full production.
Even when the above is achieved the work of the BPC is not finished periodic reviews ensure the organisation is constantly monitoring specific issues, and continuing to look at ways of improving on the successful implementation.
NOTE: The SCS IT Consultancy Division also covers the area of Change Management.
One of the biggest problem facing the Middle East's IT community is the sourcing of the right calibre of staff both for permanent roles and for the temporary assignments which arise from time to time due to illness or specific projects where the appropriate resources simply aren't available internally. In some circumstances lack of the right skills necessary can have a serious effect on an organizations ability to operate effectively as a business.
SCS (though it's extensive network) has available a substantial database of people with experience in most areas of business and IT disciplines. Working from a full briefing from the client, SCS will search for the right candidate to present the right person for the role. If the appropriate candidate is not available from the database, SCS will commence a search internationally for the right person.
Without the use of this service an organisation can
waste a significant amount of valuable management time interviewing for
the role only to find at the end that the successful candidate is not
suitable, potentially resulting in the whole process having to start over
again.
Based in Middle East SCS has already a large number of consultants who can be made available at short notice, covering specific areas such as:
1) IT Management
2) Systems Analysts
3) Programmers
4) Data Administrators
5) Financial Accounting Specialist
6) Maintenance Management Consultants
7) Business Re-engineering Consultants
One of the fastest growing areas of the IT services market in the West is Facility Management and the outsourcing of IT functions.
Whilst this has not yet had a major impact in the Middle East, the market is showing signs of increased acceptance as a way of significantly reducing IT costs.
SCS has identified this area as a key requirement for our customers, and has accordingly committed significant resources to providing a service that will unrivalled anywhere in the Gulf.
Whether you are looking for one application to be managed (due perhaps to a lack of internal resource), or whether you are considering the outsourcing of you whole IT Operation SCS has the right package for you!
An initial review by one of our consultants is the
initial step in investigating the most appropriate route for your organisation
to take.
